STANDARD BOOKING CONDITIONS
Payment
- For within the day trips (no overnight stay) a deposit of £50 per group is required with balance payable in full at commencement of the trip.
- Tours involving at least one overnight stay will be subject to a minimum deposit of £75 per person with the balance payable six weeks prior to commencement date of the tour. Tours booked within six weeks of commencement must be paid in full on booking.
- Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to Catswhiskerstours Limited.
- Payments will be accepted via Visa or Mastercard both subject to a minimum handling fee of 2%.
- No payment reminder will be sent out.
- All prepayments will be placed in a separate trust account until completion of the relevant tour.

Cancellation
- Where the balance owing on a tour is not paid prior to the six week deadline mentioned in point 2 above then the company reserves the right to cancel the tour and forfeit the deposit.
- The deposit is forfeited on any cancellation which must be notified to the company in writing and sent via recorded delivery.
- Where notification of cancellation has been received less than six weeks prior to commencement of a tour the following schedule of refunds will apply:
- 41-28 days before start- 75pct of balance
- 27-14 days before start-50pct of balance
- 13-0 days before start-NIL
- Catswhiskerstours Limited reserves the right to cancel trips under exceptional circumstances. In such cases clients will be promptly informed and offered :
- transfer to a substitute trip or tour or
- an alternative trip or tour which if a lower cash value will include a cash adjustment refund or
- a total refund of all prepaid monies.
Risks and Insurance
Clients must have appropriate and adequate insurance (with a reputable insurer) to cover death, personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, loss of or damage to luggage and contents of same and expenses associated with cancellation or curtailment of a tour. Each client is responsible for loss of or damage to baggage or personal possessions or consequential loss arising therefrom. In the event of client illness, then the relevant client must accept responsibility for any medical costs incurred and Catswhiskerstours Limited shall not be liable to refund any part of the tour cost. It is incumbent on each client to ensure that insurance cover held is both current and adequate for the particular needs of such client and/or group for which such client is responsible. All visitors from overseas must have insurance to cover accident and repatriation.
Clients are reminded that the booking form contains a section requiring the client entering into the booking arrangement to warrant that adequate insurance either is held or will be obtained prior to commencement of the relevant tour. Catswhiskerstours Limited reserves the right to sight evidence of such insurance.
Health and Safety
- The group must at all times abide by the directions of the Tour Guide.
- The Guide/Company must be notified in advance of clients' which are suffering from any medical condition or are taking medication which is likely to interfere with their mobility and/or ability to fully participate in the agreed tour programme.
- Clients whose fitness level or medical condition is not considered by the Company/Guide to be appropriate for certain activities may be asked to make alternative arrangements. In such cases compensation will not be offered by the Company.
- Clients should be aware that weather conditions in Scotland can be severe and hence MUST be properly equipped.
- Catswhiskerstours Limited reserves the right to terminate a tour if, in the reasonable opinion of the company the behaviour of a client or client group is or is likely to be disruptive, dangerous or upsetting to other people or if such client or group have caused or are likely to cause damage to property. Catswhiskerstours Limited will not pay any refund or costs incurred by a client in the event that a tour is terminated due to unacceptable behaviour.
Accommodation and Entry Fees
- Whenever possible the company will use Tourist Board accredited accommodation.
- Whilst the company will act as agent of the client in booking accommodation responsibility for payment rests with the client.
- Each client will be responsible for payments to third parties including (a) entry fees to sites, visitor attractions, etc. and (b) activity providers, e.g. white water rafting.
Complaints Procedure
Whenever possible clients should promptly bring a complaint to attention of the Guide/Company.
Clients wishing to lodge a complaint after the trip or tour should write to the company within 28 days of the tour end providing full details. The Company will endeavour to resolve such complaint in an amicable manner as expeditiously as possible.
Booking Form
It is the client's responsibility to complete and return the booking form. Where one signature is present on a form for a multiple booking this shall be treated by the company as indicating that the person signing accepts Catswhiskerstours Limited's booking conditions on behalf of the entire group all of whom have read the agreement and agree to be bound by the conditions stated.
Changes and Website Information
At time of publication all details are believed to be correct. However, the company reserves the right to alter the information, prices and itineraries advertised before accepting a booking. In such cases changes will be binding on all parties.
Size of Tour Parties
Size of parties will be at the discretion of the Company and normally be subject to a minimum of two persons and a maximum of six persons.
Pricing
Tours will be priced in Pounds Sterling (GBP).
Liabilities Disclaimer
Whilst the Company, Catswhiskerstours Limited will make every effort to ensure that all tour arrangements are made correctly and efficiently the Company will not be liable where any failure to perform or improper performance was due to: the act(s) and/or omission(s) of the person(s) affected or another party member, or those of a third party not connected with the provision of the relevant tour and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable, or 'force majeure' as defined below.
Force Majeure
- The Company cannot accept liability to pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of the Company's obligations is prevented or affected by 'force majeure'. In these Booking Conditions, 'force majeure' means any event which the Company or the supplier of the services in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside the Company's control.
The Company cannot accept any liability for any damage, loss, expense or other sum(s) of any description (1) which on the basis of information given to the Company by the client(s) concerning the booking prior to the Company accepting it, the Company could not have foreseen the client would suffer or incur if the Company breached its contract with the client(s) or (2) which did not result from any breach of contract or other fault by the Company or its employees or, where the Company is responsible for them, its suppliers. Additionally, the Company cannot accept liability for any business losses.
The Company, Catswhiskerstours Limited, cannot accept responsibility for (1) the safety or roadworthiness of any equipment including, but not limited to, bicycles and motor vehicles which may be hired from third parties in the course of a Tour and (2) the safety and well being of clients whilst undertaking activities which are self-led (e.g. cycling and walking) or provided by third parties (e.g. white water rafting). Clients must satisfy themselves as regard to the safety and suitability of both equipment and the activity selected.
Law
These booking conditions and any contract to which they apply shall be governed by the laws of Scotland.
